CLINICAL APPLICATIONS COORDINATOR (CAC)

DSS, Inc. is a national company specializing in Electronic Health Records (EHR) software development. DSS, Inc. is seeking a mid – senior level professional for the position of Clinical Applications Coordinator (CAC).  This position will initially be a Temporary/Seasonal position for 6 months to 1 year, working 40 hours a week; depending on DSS’ needs your initial contract year may be extended for one additional year.  Full Time Employment may be considered.

The CAC serves as the principal liaison with Information Technology (IT) Service for vxVistA/vxCPRS activities to the clinical staff.  The incumbent utilizes comprehensive knowledge of information technology to facilitate implementation of clinical and administrative programs.  The CAC is reportable to the Operations Manager for vxVistA for overall work performance.

 

The CAC has formal education and/or experience in information technology as it is applied to health care settings. The CAC must be capable of understanding the structure of vxVistA/vxCPRS and the multiple ways in which it can be configured to meet the needs of health care providers as well as those in administrative roles.

Responsibilities:

FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

The CAC:

  • assesses and implements Automated Data Processing (A D P) programs that enhance the delivery of patient care and administrative functions.
  • interprets and communicates medical center goals, objectives, policies and procedures to staff and the health care team.
  • utilizes knowledge, experience, and educational background to examine both routine and highly complex systems and problems to determine actions necessary to resolve problems via collection data and input from multiple sources in the organization  and  customers. 
  • must adapt to changing environments, conditions, and problems. 
  • will work with complicated integration of existing health service’s procedures and evolving concepts of ADP process management. 
  • must  adapt to varying levels of expertise with his/her contacts and must be able to interpret and analyze both micro and macro management problems relating to vxVistA/vxCPRS.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES:

  • Maintains open and effective communication with customers and DSS staff to identify needs, concerns and recommendations regarding vxCPRS computer software/hardware.
  • Acts as a consultant in the application of information technology to clinical practice.
  • Analyzes user areas to determine procedural problems and vxCPRS deficiencies; seeks resolutions, follows through with implementation and evaluates in terms of improved patient care.
  • Incorporates significant data from a variety of sources in identifying problems/issues in vxCPRS.
  • Assesses knowledge and computer skill level of customers related to vxCPRS.
  • Uses knowledge of Vista File structures to gather appropriate documentation.
  • Plans timing and sequence of own work and responds to requests for information in a timely manner.
  • Assists with maintaining computer security and HIPAA regulations.
  • Assigns appropriate menus, electronic keys and ASU roles to users.
  • Provides training to end users or other staff as indicated and/or as requested.
  • Develops forms, boilerplates, templates, menus, order sets, quick orders, and clinical reminders appropriate to the users’ and the institution’s needs.
  • Designs learning materials for use in clinical settings.
  • Facilitates use of vxCPRS in the clinical setting.
  • Coordinates with other DSS staff and the customers within the healthcare setting to facilitate smooth updates/modifications of software, hardware, and other physical aspects of patient care.
  • Trouble-shoots daily operating problems with software.
  • Mintains up-to-date knowledge of technological and software development in health care automation
  • Demonstrates ability to identify, analyze and resolve vxCPRS problems resulting in significant enhancements to patient care and administrative functioning.
  • Serves as a resource to clinical and IT staff to promote use of the electronic medical record.
  • Acts as liaison between clinical and non-clinical staff concerning vxVistA/vxCPRS.
  • Assists the vxSupport staff in resolving reported problems with vxVistA/vxCPRS software.
  • Monitors and facilitates use of clinical packages for documentation in vxCPRS.
 
Qualifications:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • BS degree or equivalent experience desired
  • 5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Professional license or certification desired

  • Full time, exempt position
  • Location: - Juno Beach, Florida or Remote
  • Must Possess a Valid Driver's License and Automobile Insurance
  • Must have the ability to pass an extensive government clearance background investigation which may include (but not be limited to) Credit, Criminal, Drug/Alcohol Testing
