Overview

Those who have used Vista in the VA understand its power and ease of use. But to use it in an outpatient setting was not viable so far as the Practice will need a user-friendly graphical interface to do registrations, appointments and most importantly billing. The VistA-Edge PMS now makes that possible. Your office staff can do all the Practice Management functions that will seamlessly be passed into VistA and the Physicians can use VistA with the full confidence that all encounter information including the CPTs and ICDs needed for billing the patient will be available in the PMS. This information from VistA is used for collecting payment from the patient or making claims to insurance as applicable. The PMS is rich in reporting capability and dashboards to monitor encounters and claims to ensure that no charges escape attention. VistA-Edge can send electronic claims to a clearinghouse like Emdeon. VistA-Edge also allows interfacing with the local lab or with external reference labs like Quest. Using a MU certified version of VistA like WorldVistA will enable eligibility for MU benefits..
