MDWS was originally developed using Visual Studio and required IIS and a windows machine to run.  This modification/port to mono allows for running MDWS on a greater number of platforms such as Linux, OS X, and Windows among others (basically any platform supported by mono).  MonoDevelop is also available to developers to continue to develop the source code without using Visual Studio.

MDWS primarily uses CPRS RPCs as far as i can tell, so any VistA implementation should work, but the OSEHRA VM, OSEHRA VistA on Cache, and the CPRS demo have been tested.

Enables MDWS to work on an opensource stack (Linux & GT.m)

Key Features

Besides working on mono. The MDWS port includes the features and functionality of the primary MDWS project including querying for VistA using web services, among others.
