Overview of Open Source vxVistA on version 2009.1.0.446.0
The purpose of this document is to inform and to instruct users on how to configure Cache for Open Source vxVistA on version 2009.1. This document explains step be step details on how to properly set up and configure namespaces. This document is divided into seven sections. The three essential sections are Configuration of Cache 2009.1.0.446.0, with optional sections, Security Management and Enabling Telnet and the final section is Upgrading vxVistA.

Section II Overview:
1. The Prerequisites:
-Setting up the DBROOT folder
-Naming the Namespace folder
-placing the unzipped cache.dat file in the folder
Path example C:\DBROOT\"namespace name"\ Cache.dat
2. Creating a New Namespace
3. Setting the Global Mappings
4. Setting the Routine Mappings
Note: Cache.dat Version Confirmation
After mounting the database (for this instance it is namespace name: VOS) and before adding the Global Mappings and Routine Mappings please check to see what version you are currently using. If you are using a version greater than 2009.1, please skip over the Global Mappings and Routine Mappings section and upgrade your current cache.dat file. Then, start at Section V step1, Global Mappings and Routine Mappings section.
Note: For demonstrational purposes only, the set up is rooted from the C drive
C: \ your folder name \ VOS
(your drive letter) \ (directory) \ (name space)
Note: The default user credentials the user uses to access terminal mode will have an access/verify code pair to enter.
